This stretch of coast, known as a landing place already in Phoenician times, owes its peculiar name (meaning 'Dead Sea') to its safe, calm sea, allowing the many pleasure boaters to drop anchor without fear of any surprises. The placid sea makes this stretch of coast much loved by owners of small boats and inflatables and the coast offers many ramps for launching and retrieving boats.

To reach the beach, located in the Municipality of Cabras, in the San Giovanni di Sinis locality, take the road to Tharros, and turn left at the sign for the beach located next to the car park at San Giovanni.

Besides having services for pleasure boaters, the beach has a large parking area also suitable for campervans. This fine white sand beach lies on the Sinis peninsula, the Marine Protected Area that also encompasses the isle of Mal di Ventre and the Scoglio del Catalano.
