Near the town of Martis is an area of great naturalistic interest, characterised by the perfect fusion of the red trachyte rocks and the intense green of the vegetation that covers these zones: it is the narrow gorge of Badde Traes, cut over the millennia by the Rio Masino. Vertical walls and evocative niches created by the elements are the peculiarities of this enchanting valley. A little further on, in the locality of Triulintas, at the confluence of the Rio Pontisella into the Rio Masino is a fall with a drop of around fifteen metres with the waters forming a small natural lake. This is framed in by rich, aquatic grasses, willows and elms which contribute to an even more picturesque scenery. Once these waters were used to run an ancient mill, that was abandoned during the floods. Its ruins are still visible near the fall.
