An endless, relaxing, irresistible day of sun and sea. Then in the evening the atmosphere is transformed, everything changes: DJ sets, concerts, events and beach parties take place. You can decide where and how long to stay and choose your favourite music.
From Marina Piccola in Cagliari to Margine Rosso in Quartu Sant’Elena, there are nine kilometres of city seafront with a succession of beach bars and kiosks, each amplifying their music in the evening. Apart from a few special evenings, entry is free, inviting you to move from one to another following the different sounds, often with live music.
A series of clubs and discos runs along the coastal road From Poetto to Costa Rei, ranging from disco revival to Latin American and Caribbean atmospheres, but the temple of disco clubs frequented by youngsters is Villasimius. Live DJ sets, special guests and tech house, minimal techno and trance evenings. There are no boomers here!
Music for all tastes, from house to techno, groove and Caribbean dances, in San Teodoro the desire to stay up until sunrise is never lacking. It’s like a ‘magnet’, well-connected and a little further south of the Costa Smeralda, but staying up late is certainly easier when you don’t have to give up those special Costa Smeralda night-time vibes.
Perfectly camouflaged in the Gallura landscape, iconic and trendy clubs embody the most glamorous atmospheres of the Island. Here, fairy-tale evenings start early, with aperitifs in the clubs nestled in the cliffs, and end late, with late-night snacks on the beach, to greet the dawn.
It’s a classic that never goes out of fashion, even in its nightlife. The sea during the day, pre-evenings at the pubs and bars inside the medieval walls of Alghero, drinks on the ramparts before sunsets that leave an impression, followed by evenings at the kiosk bars along the beaches or a shuttle bus to the large open-air discos. It couldn’t be easier than that!
In fifth place in the 2018 ranking is the beautiful beach of the promontory of Capo Malfatano, in the territory of Teulada, located right between Tuerredda, the beach that is symbolic of Sardinia, and Piscinnì. It is a wonderful place both in terms of nature and history, with medium grain sand and pebbles, a very shallow seabed and inlets with amber-coloured rocks. The bay, sheltered from the winds, became first the Phoenician then later Punic landing point, since the 6th century BC. Today, Portixeddu, sixth in the ranking, is the last beach of Sulcis - in the territory of Fluminimaggiore - before the Costa Verde. It is an expanse of over two kilometres of fine, clear sand bathed by a crystal-clear sea, often stirred up by the mistral winds, rendering it perfect for surfing. The mouth of the Mannu river forks it into two parts. In tenth place is another Sulcis wonder, this time in the Iglesiente sub-region: Masua is a location that combines the charm of the ghost of mining villages and disused mining sites with the blue sea guarded by cliffs rising up out of the sea, like Pan di Zucchero.
