Stretch out and relax on the sand, thrill yourself with wind and kite surfing and enjoy picturesque views: in the distance you will see the Torre del Coltellazzo and the islet of San Macario. Su Guventeddu is an expanse of almost a kilometre of fine white-golden sand, warm and compact, that plunges together with the odd rock into the limpid, emerald-green sea of the western part of the Gulf of Angels. The shallow waters make it ideal for families with children and, especially during the hottest hours, offer a beautiful display of lights and colours. The beach is accessible for the disabled and offers services: ample parking space, hotels, bars, restaurants, and bathing equipment rental. Swept by the wind, it is a favourite destination for surfers, home to wind and kite surfing competitions, and is loved by scuba divers and underwater fishing enthusiasts.
Su Guventeddu is part of the Nora beach shoreline, in the territory of Pula, set in a beautiful bay bordered by two promontories, offering a combination of romantic taste and historical charm. As well as being a naturalistic jewel, the beach is near the archaeological park of the ancient city of Nora, founded by the Phoenicians between the ninth and eighth centuries BC. However, the traces of the Phoenicians and Punics have been mostly covered over by the Romans. The area is situated at the foot of Capo Pula, the old port, separated from the mainland by an isthmus. A day at the seaside can be topped off by an archaeological visit and also, thanks to the sanctuary of Sant'Efisio, a trip to a small Romanesque rural church, where tradition has it the saint was martyred. On 3 May each year, a procession for the saint passes by here, in one of the most intense moments of the four days of the Festa di Sant'Efisio. Behind the bay, don't miss seeing the sun go down over the lagoon. Wander through the tree-lined avenues to reach the squares of Pula and its nightlife, with the many events and aperitifs in Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Chiesa.
To the west of the bay, you can immerse yourself in the beautiful coves of Santa Margherita di Pula, one of the most spectacular coasts of southern Sardinia: almost ten kilometres of soft sand and clear water, interspersed with small promontories, which form various coves, including Marina, Bernardini, those of various resorts and some smaller and more isolated spots, which extend all the way to the border with the Chia coast (in the territory of Domus de Maria). Just inland off the coast, let yourself be enchanted by the system of canals and small islands created by the Rio Arrieras delta, home to lush Mediterranean vegetation and many species of birds.
