Guidelines for cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Personal Data Protection Authority

This notice is provided pursuant to the European Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003, known as the Privacy Code, updated and integrated by Legislative Decree no. 101 of 10 August 2018, and the Guidelines for Cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Personal Data Protection Authority (approved on 10 June, 2021, and published in the Official Gazette no. 163 of 9 July, 2021)

The www.sardegnaturismo.it portal makes use of scripts, i.e. a 'piece of code,' used to make the site function correctly and interactively and is executed on our servers or on your device, and cookies, i.e. text files that are recorded on the terminal of the user or that allow access to information on the user's terminal. Cookies make it possible to store information on visitors' preferences, they are used to verify the correct functioning of the site and to improve its functionality by personalising the content of the pages based on the type of browser used, or to simplify browsing by automating the procedures (e.g. login, site language), and finally for an analysis of how the website is used by visitors.

Important cookie management information

When accessing the www.sardegnaturismo.it portal, a banner appears which, in addition to containing a link to this page, also has other buttons. By clicking on "Accept all cookies" on the banner, the visitor expressly consents to the use of cookies and similar technology, in particular to the registration of these cookies on your terminal for the purposes indicated in this document, or to access information about your terminal via cookies. Please understand that consent is not required for technical ones because without their tracking, some functions of the site itself and, therefore, your browsing, could be compromised.

Cookies are mainly divided into two macro-categories:

• technical cookies, needed to allow the user to browse within www.sardegnaturismo.it and to use the various functions and services
• profiling cookies, needed to trace browsing in order to monitor and profile the user. They reveal which web pages the user visits, which content is read, and can profile the user’s tastes, habits, consumer choices and more.

The Guarantor can allow the inclusion of analytical cookies with technical cookies, only when they are aggregated and rendered anonymous so as not to be attributable to the user in any way.

Disabling cookies via the browser

The user may refuse the use of cookies and can revoke an already given consent at any time. Since cookies are linked to the browser used, they can be disabled directly from the browser, thus refusing/withdrawing consent to the use of cookies, or via the banner at the bottom of the page (Cookie Settings).

Disabling cookies could prevent the correct use of some functions of the site itself, specifically, the services provided by third parties would not be accessible and, therefore, not be viewable: e.g. the buttons of social networks.

The Sardegnaturismo.it website uses the following types of cookies:

• Session Cookies, for browsing or to provide a service requested by the user. They are not used for any other aims and are usually installed directly by the website owner. They are used to record data useful for normal browsing and use of the website on the user’s computer (i.e. permitting it to record the preferred size of the page on a list);
• Functional Cookies, which allow www.sardegnaturismo.it to recall the user’s preferences in order to enhance functionality, for example, to record the specific settings of a user such as country, and, if set, the permanent access status, as well as others;
• Analytics Cookies, used by the site manager to gather information, in an aggregated manner, about the number of users, and how they visit the website. www.sardegnaturismo.it makes use of the functions provided by the Web Analytics Italia service, a gathering and analytical platform which records and analyses statistical data regarding website traffic and the digital services of Italian Public Administration.

Web Analytics Italia uses a web data collection and analysis system designed by Matomo software, the world's leading web analytics platform in the open source software industry, for collecting and analysing web traffic. More information is available on the privacy page. In this specific case they are assimilated to technical cookies and can therefore be used without requiring the explicit consent of the user.

• Cookies/third party services: www.sardegnaturismo.it serves as an intermediary for third party cookies, like social network buttons, used to offer further services and uses to visitors and to simplify interaction with the website www.sardegnaturismo.it has no control over these third party cookies, entirely controlled by them, and has no access to the information gathered by these cookies. It adheres to, including third party cookies, the requirement to comply with relevant legislation. Information about the use of these cookies and their purpose, as well as about how to disable them, is provided by the third parties on the pages indicated below. Remember, the tracking of users does not include the identification of same, unless the user is already registered with the service and already logged in, in which case the user has already consented directly with the third party at the time of registration with that service (for example, Facebook).

Type of cookies present in Sardegnaturismo.it

Session Cookies: session cookies - First party - They allow normal browsing and use of the website - Cancellation time: 23 days (2000000 seconds) – It would be impossible to browse without them as they are necessary cookies that cannot be disabled;

Functionality cookies - First and third party - Facilitate browsing and the service provided via criteria selected by the latter - Cancellation time: from 30 minutes to 13 months - It is not possible to distinguish connected users and maintain the choices made while browsing;

Analytics Cookies - Third party (a script has been installed Specifically for Web Analytics Italia) - For the duration of the WAI cookies, check the privacy information of Web Analytics Italia - No personal data of the user is collected through Web Analytics Italia because the information relating to access to the site and user behaviour are provided by WAI in an aggregated and depersonalised and/or anonymous form -

Profiling Cookie - Third party - They are used to monitor access to the site and receive information on user behaviour within the site - Cancellation time 13 months - It is not possible to proceed with any analysis/profiling activity.

www.sardegnaturismo.it uses the cookies/services of the following third parties:

Plugin Social Network

www.sardegnaturismo.it also incorporates plugins and/or buttons in order to allow easy sharing of content on your favourite social networks. When you visit a page of our website that contains a plugin, your browser connects directly to the servers of the social network from which the plugin is loaded, and the server can trace your visit to our website and, where appropriate, associate it to your social media account, especially if you are logged in at the time of your visit or if you have recently browsed one of the websites containing social plugins. These services release "third-party cookies." If you do not want the social network to record data relating to your visit to our website, you must log out of your social network account and probably delete the cookies that the social network has installed on your browser.

The collection and use of information by these third parties are governed by the respective privacy policies to which reference is made (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube etc.)
